Welcome to the 8th Annual Melbourne Chilli Eating Championship!!!
Melbourne Chilli Eating Championship is Australia’s longest running premier competitive eating competition. Held annually at The B.East 80 Lygon St Brunswick East.
THE EVENT DAY – SAT APRIL 2ND
12pm – Doors open
1pm – Heat 1
2pm – Heat 2
3pm – Heat 3
4pm – The Inaugural Australian CHILLI PONG Open Invitational*
5pm – FINAL KO ROUND
*Yes it’s just like beer pong but with stonking hot chilli instead! Sign up & secure your spot on the day.
MCEC RUNDOWN
-3x heats kicking off at 1pm
-The winner of each heat will progress to the final round.
-Rounds will start off easy and getting progressively hotter.
-Rounds will vary from fresh pods to chilli spiked foods & drink, starting with Jalapeños, and progressing to Carolina Reapers and beyond!!!
– If competitor is vegan/vegetarian/has any allergies whatsoever, they must stipulate upon application to the competition and we can accommodate you.

-You must EAT THE CHILLI🌶🌶
-Disqualification is by way off knock out, tap out, pass out or spew out!
-Competitors will be given NO napkins.
-A pint of beer and a glass of milk to taunt you into tapping out.
-You will be given a spew bucket.

    Just received this yesterday and have already had it with 3-4 meals – it’s got a kick but it’s not sour – not vinegar after notes. I’m not a connoisseur of hot sauces but after some time in Thailand/Isaan and eating a lot of spice with locals I built a tolerance for heat and enjoy the heat without the sourness which some chillies can bring. This hits the mark perfectly – very well balanced and literally could be added to anything to give it a kick without taking away from the dish… I wonder what the scoville rating on this is? guessing not too high… It’s one of the nicest hot sauces i’ve tried so far…..would order more but I’ve got 6 more bottles of the Melbourne hot sauce to try! Thanks to OzBargain! 😉

    I picked this sauce up at the chilli eating competition. It’s great to add to any dish that needs a bit of a kick! Wish I knew what scoville it was, going to have to get more as it’s a limited run!
